The Discount 25% Problem Solution is as follows
Suppose you go to buy an Iphone. The shopkeeper says he’ll give you a 25% discount. But after that, then he’ll increase the discounted price by 20%. Whats the final discount you’re looking at?
a. No Difference
b. 5% Discount
c. 10% Discount
d. 15% Discount
The solution is given below :
EXPLANATION :
Suppose the price of the Iphone is 100 Rs . { Just Assume 😉 }
You get 25% discount. So that means, you’ll now have to pay 100 X (1-0.25) = 100 X 0.75 = 75 Rs
But now a 20% increase on the discounted price means you’ll pay 75 X (1+0.2) = 75 X 1.2 = 90 Rs
Now, since the final price you have to pay is 90 Rs and Original Price is 100 Rs, You end up getting a Final Discount of 10Rs.
Now we know that 10 Rs of 100 is 10% . So the answer is Option (c) 10%
